Podcast Hackathon
Introduction
What my group did in the podcast hackathon was make a podcast for one of the characters in the book Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian the character we got was Roger. So what we had to do was make a podcast from the perspective of Roger, we included most of the parts that Roger appeared in the book. We started off with finding out all the chapters that Roger would appear in, after we would make a script about what Roger would be saying in that part. My understanding for the book Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian got better but it was mostly for Roger and his parts. I thought it was really interesting how we were able to create stories of what we thought Roger may have been thinking it was very different and really open. I learned that making a podcast isn't as easy as I thought and that it takes a lot of time and effort to make, I think that this practice really helped us realize things that need to work on but I the same time we saw what our strengths were in making podcasts.

The parts that I did for the character sheet were the chapters that he appeared in which was important because once we found the chapters we could answer the rest of the questions and also begin our script. Pretty much everything in the character sheet was used for the script and nothing was left out.
Our groups scrum boardThis our scrum board that we used for the hackathon and what we would do is put tasks on stick notes and put them in the column they belonged eventually our goal was to get it from need to do to done. I think that the scrum board helped but since the project was so fast we didn't really get a chance to use it a lot but I think it's helpful to keep groups on task.

We started off the script by pretty much including every part that Roger appeared in and we would change or keep what he was saying, usually we would add a part in the beginning of what Roger may have been thinking to change it up a bit. I would mostly do the parts of when he would be thinking/taking to himself for example in scene one I did the intro, another thing I noticed was that I was good at creating stories or just add to the script on the spot. That would mostly happen when we would be recording outside and to take full advantage of the background noise I would create scenes to record in that moment. The script would change all the time because sometimes you say certain parts of the script in a different way that sounds better so we would just be constantly changing it.
For the recording section of the podcast we recorded everywhere from Denny's bathroom to our teachers office at school. The reason we were all over the place for the recordings was because we needed certain types of background noise to make the podcast sound more realistic. We used an Iphone to do all of the recordings and overall it worked well but we did have this problem when it would randomly add our new recording in the middle of the other ones and mess everything up. We chose who would be who just randomly and sometimes we would even help each other out and read for their character. The funny part about this was that all of us would always forget what we were going to say or mess up the lines and it made the recording process super long but it was fun.
